Monthly Spay Day
Madison Cat Project strongly supports humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as a method to control outdoor cat populations. TNR is 100% effective at preventing additional kittens from being born and it therefore stops the population growth.
One Saturday every month MCP works with Madison College and the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine to do low cost spay and neuter surgeries for cats that live outside.
Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, students, and other volunteers donate their time to help keep costs low. We are able to spay or neuter approximately 50-60 cats each month. The cats do not need to live in Dane County to participate.
We only do this one Saturday every month, so we usually book up at least a month in advance if not more. If you are caring for cats that live outside and are interested in getting them scheduled for one of our Spay Days, please email our spay day scheduler. The suggested donation per cat is $35.
